WHO ARE WE?
We are a small family oriented, independent church located in North Central Kansas. Minneapolis is a town of approximately 2,000 people and the county seat of Ottawa County which has a population of approximately 6,000. This rural setting has a predominately agricultural economy. We are located approximately twenty minutes by four-lane highway from Salina, which is a regional trade and medical center, with a population of 45,000.
Our town contains a local K-12 school system, medical and dental clinics, hospital, wellness center, public library, park with swimming pool and small downtown shopping area. We have seven churches in the city and nineteen in the county. We offer a safe, friendly, small town environment in which to raise a family.
The Minneapolis Community Bible Church was established in1957 and has roots in the Baptist tradition. We have a mature congregation that believes in the inerrancy of the Bible and the life principles contained therein. We currently have an active AWANA program reaching about fifty children during the school year with an average weekly attendance of thirty. We are a member of the Ottawa County Ministerial Association and are active in their events including services at the hospital and nursing home. We are serving in our tenth year as a Drop-Off Center collecting Shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child. We were a founding church of Love INC. (Love in the Name of Christ), a community benevolent, non-profit organization.
We have historically been active in local evangelism through Bible studies, community access television (broadcasting our weekly worship service and other outreach programs).
We firmly believe that man is saved by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
We seek to expand our boundaries of influence through both internal growth of our congregation that now averages twenty-five each Sunday as well as external outreach programs that will spread the Gospel of Christ and better living through Biblical principles.
We seek a shepherd who can lead us in these endeavors, helping us to grow in number as we grow spiritually.
