Position Summary:
The pastor of the Community Bible Church will be the spiritual leader of this Church. He will fill the pulpit and lead each worship service. In addition to this, he will also function as an Elder in this church which has Elder rule. The Elder Board functions as a team, therefore the pastor must be able to function as a part of a team. The pastor will work closely with the other Elders on the Board that operates on a consensus basis. He will be expected to have an abiding love for the Lord and a heart for people.

Pastor Position Requirements:
Education: A seminary or Bible College graduate is preferred.
Experience: Two years of prior ministry experience is preferred.
Skills: Have good written and oral communication abilities. Be knowledgeable and able to use current technology. Have organizational skills and be able to complete administrative responsibilities.
Problem Solving: Have the ability to make decisions and make recommendations to the Elder Board on matters of the church.
Decision Making: All major decisions will be made by the Elder Board. The Pastor must be able to decide when a meeting needs to be called to resolve pressing issues and to make recommendations to accomplish resolutions to issues before the church.
Accountability: As a church body, all are first accountable to God and must live by Biblical principles at all times. The Pastor is foremost accountable to God and secondly to the Elder Board for his actions, teaching and general conduct.

Responsibilities of the Pastor:
- Leads the weekly worship service
- Preaches Biblically based sermons
- Assists with youth and adult programs, such as AWANA, Sunday School, Bible studies, etc.
- Performs administrative duties, working closely with the Elders
- Supervises visitation for those needing such attention
- Provides follow-up to church visitors
- Be an evangelist
- Spends time each week to study and meditate on the Scripture
Other Responsibilities May Include:
- Keep regular hours in the church office
- Provides Christian counseling as needed
- Notify Elders of church needs, (maintenance of church building and equipment, programs materials, etc.)
- Conduct church meetings as required
- Participate as church delegate to Ottawa County Ministerial Association meetings and other activities
- Support other outreach ministries
